Lily's Nursery is almost complete!

Lily's room is all painted and arranged just need to add the finishing touches! Here are some pictures!
Here is what we started with...

A second picture...

And the painting begins...

As we were finishing painting, Scott realized that the colors were Neapolitan ice cream colors so we of course had to buy some Blue Bell ice cream! :)

Adding the leaves, I went around to all the hobby stores looking for a stamp, but had no luck. So, I got sponges and cut them into a leaf shape and we tested it out on some boxes and thought it looked great!

The finished product!
 I was so glad to be done with painting. Next time, if we do it, someone will be paid. This was no fun, other than the leaf part... I have seriously come to realize that I am a painter of pictures, not walls! A big shout out to my girlfriend Krystal who helped tape alot of the room and helped pick out the colors. As well as my awesome husband who collaborated with Krystal and my design and came up with the white stripe and adding the leaves on the stripe. He also did ALOT of the painting. I did some too, but would then come and rest, so the paint could dry and would slip into what I like to call a pregnancy coma and wake up a few hours later and he would be finished, without my help.

Only thing major left to do now is cover this padded rocking chair, hang the curtains, do some minor decorating and the room will be complete as it is going to get for me. Hopefully done just in the nick of time!

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::Lily's 37 week update:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Lily is looking great! Head is down, heartbeat was 140 last Friday! Scott had not been able to come to the last two appointments due to some work things but he was able to see her on the ultrasound, and Dr. Mcclendon was able to see her heart very well and to see all four chambers were working perfectly, as well as the shadow of her ribs, her hands and feet, some hair and even one of her ears! No pictures were printed but it was neat to see be able to see all of that. It was all I could do to hold back tears, because it is still so surreal to think that in just a few weeks she will be here in the flesh as I keep putting it. And to be able to place exactly where she is at in my tummy. Dr. Mcclendon thinks that she is weighing at 6 lbs 5 oz already! And since Scott and I are on the taller side she thinks that she is going to be a pretty long baby as well!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Family Updates~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have heard through the grapevine that our newest niece Felicity, was baptized yesterday. Through blogger and Facebook, I have seen some photos and it looks like the service went beautifully and Felicity handled it like the sweet baby that I hear she is!
Please keep my Dad in your thoughts as he underwent surgery Friday to repair an inguinal hernia. Everything went smoothly, as his girlfriend Lauren has reported to us, he is using pain medications and resting on the couch for the next few weeks. She did say that he did have to get up and do some slight walking around so that he mesh patch does not stay localized in one place. Sounds pretty painful as I can only imagine, plus it was also in a sensitive area. He was only placed under twilight anesthesia, so that he could help the surgeon to make sure the mesh patch was in a good place and holding well.  No fun, no fun at all. The funny thing is him trying to stay off of his feet and not to be doing anything. I am sure he will recover just fine.
And the visitors will be here before we know it! Tomorrow, I will be booking flights for my Mom and Missy to come into town to visit! Not really knowing when Lily will make her debut. We have decided to book there flights to come October 20th, thru October 25th! If she isn't already here by then I should hopefully be induced this weekend! Only time will tell.... Then Scott's parents are going to come November 5th thru the 13th. Also in time to be here for Scott's 30th birthday! And sometime towards the end of November I think my Dad and Lauren are going to ride their motorcycles down and come for a visit as well. If anyone else is planning on coming I thought I would share who I know that is already coming so if you'd like to plan a trip you won't over lap with anyone else! Also we will being staying here in Jacksonville for Christmas this year so if anyone would like to visit around that time that is ok too! I won't be going back to work till after the first of the year! So it will be nice to be able to spend Lily's first holiday's together as a new family!
And I wish I didn't have to report this kind of news but sometimes you must. I am sad to report that one of my girlfriends at work lost her son, Brad Nettles, last weekend to a motorcycle accident, in Callahan, Florida. He was only 23 years old and the oldest out of three boys. Some facts of the accident are still under investigation, and I am not sure if Brad  was wearing a helmet or not. Florida does not require you to wear one. But he was struck but a Ford F-150 driven by a 17 year old driver at 3am. He is with the Lord now and my thoughts go out to Cheryl Bunting and family, as well as the Nettles family in this time of sadness. She is one of my close friends at work and it saddened me to see her so grief stricken. I miss her not being at work, but I know that she needs time to heal.
Also, my Mom's long time boyfriend, Randy Sessoms lost his father this past week. Here is clip from his obituary:
  Ernest Ray Sessoms, 78, passed away on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011. He was born in Dublin, N.C. Mr. Sessoms retired as a crane operator with Newport News Shipbuilding in 1998, after 41 years of service, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army . He was a car enthusiast and a member of the Masons. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Viola Frances Sessoms; one son, Randy R. Sessoms; three brothers and two sisters, Woodrow, Henry, Charles, Ruth and Dorothy; three grandchildren, Ryan, Amanda and Cecil; and three great-grandchildren, Evann, Laylah and River. He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Sessoms; and a daughter, Darlene Eanes.
It is a sad thing to hear about death, but it is a part of the circle of life. My thoughts go out to both families this week and hope that they are able to heal and  grieve to some sort of closure in this tragic time in there lives.
Well that about wraps it up for this week. Will post another next week if not sooner!
And the painting begins...
This past weekend, Scott and I have began our painting venture... As most of you may know I am a painter of pictures, not walls, and I must say, I very much dislike painting walls... Here is what we have started. We are going to paint the taped off area around the room white and then either sponge or stamp green leaves in the white stripe. I have some wall hangings that match Lily's bedding that will go on the wall and I am thinking of hanging here comforter as a wall hanging as well, ( as more and more I read we are not supposed to put that stuff in Lily's crib) I also purchased some wooden ladybug wall hangings off of amazon today that I hope match everything as well. Slowly but surely it will all come together! More pictures to come!
An Intimate Event...
So as most of you know, my best Jacksonville girls, Krystal and Racine were planning on throwing me a shower this past weekend. I sent out invites to our additional military family here in Florida and to some of my co-workers. Hearing through the rumor mill at work that they are planning on throwing me a surprise lunch shower at sometime in the next five weeks I did not expect a lot of my co-workers to attend. And about three people that I invited were also going out of town. Most of my military girls had rsvp'd to the event, and me wanting to make it a co-ed shower, it would make it have just a small get together.
But unfortunately, the turn out turned to be smaller than we had ever expected. I think the hosts were more upset than I was, and already being blessed to have had a big shower in Virginia, as well as being showered with gifts throughout my whole pregnancy. I did not take anything to heart. I love my best friends and was just happy to get to hang out with them two days in a row! (The day before we went to lunch together, it had been forever since all three of us had been together all at once...)
As you know, I tend to always try and air on the lighter side of things and decided we could turn it into an old fashioned mini party like we used to have almost every weekend prior to my pregnancy. I told the girls to make them some cocktails and break out the Wii! Scott even got along in the action. We ran back to our place for a few minutes, grabbed my Michael Jackson dance game, some extra remotes, and headed back to Ray's.
The girls couldn't believe that I was so good at the dance game and with being almost nine months pregnant they also thought it was hilarious! Mostly because they said from the back I don't look preggo at all and then I turn to the side and it's like BAM! Belly! When I did some of the moves they were like, "Watch out! Those are giving birth movements!" Next was karaoke which was also a blast. And yes, Scott even took part in this as well. All in all I couldn't of asked for a better night with GREAT people surrounding Lily, Scott and myself.
Here are a few pictures that we took:
Eight months and three weeks!
