Our new venture begins...

As most of you have probably read on facebook, or been told by phone, we are going to be stationed in Yokosuka, Japan! We are all very excited and this should take place sometime after august. We will be there for the next three years. Scott will be going back on sea duty and I will be staying at home with Lily and Roxy. Any suggestions are welcome email me at vsteely@gmail...
A few stats on Yokosuka...
1. It is about 30 minutes away from Tokyo.
2. Mount Fuji is close by.
3. They have 7-eleven's there!
4. There is a Disneyland there!
5. There is even a Costco there!
6. Their money is called yen or ¥.
7. Electronics are very cheap over there.
8. They drive on the left side of the road.
9. There trains are called "bullet trains".
10. And I'm sure there is so much more I'm missing, and will learn.
Our plan is to visit Virginia at the end of August through Labor day. And to visit Houston for Thanksgiving and then we will head over seas! We have to arrive no later than December 12th.
And of course we plan on bringing my fur baby Roxy as well!
Here are a few pictures I found on Google....

Our trip to Houston

We went to Houston last weekend to visit Scott's family. Lily flew for the first time and she was an angel! She also got to meet all of her Texas aunts and uncles, as well as her cousins. We had such a great trip, we only wish we could of stayed longer!
Now the real test will be when I fly to Oklahoma by myself next month!
Here are a few pictures from the trip.

Happy 3rd Anniversary!

It's hard to believe I've been married for 3 years. A lot has changed in 3 years, a move, a dog, a baby, and so much more. What a rollercoaster this has been. But I love rollercoasters so I'm enjoying the ride. Thanks for putting up with me Scott, I love you so much. Can't wait to see what the future brings!

6 Months Old... A letter to Lily...

It is hard to believe that you have been in our lives for only 24 weeks. It feels like the time has just flown by. You have grown and changed so much in the last six months it almost makes me teary eyed. The only thing that stops that, is knowing the years upon years of exciting milestones that we are about to embark on.

You have gone from a "burrito baby" weighing in at 7lbs 4oz, 19 and 3/4 inches long to 16 or so pounds and 24 inches long give or take, (we haven't gotten your new stats quite yet). You can now "talk", laugh, growl (like chewbacca), rolling all over the place, you can even scoot now!

You are eating up a storm! There isn't a fruit or vegetable you haven't tried you are a very good eater! After eating your meal you like taking the spoon and chew on it as you are starting to teethe. We have several teething toys for you and when you rub one of them aganist your gums it makes a squeaky sound! You aren't very fond of the cold keys, but your daddy will get them out and rub them on your gums for you, it hurts a little at first but it benefits in the long run and helps you with the pain.

You love your doggie Roxy and are always interested when she walks by. You can be in a foul mood and if Roxy gets in your face she makes you grin and giggle. It is amazing to see you so tight fisted and if we place your hand on Roxy's it opens up so quickly so you can pet her. I love watching a friendship develop between the two of you that looks like it will be everlasting. I am almost positive that you two will be partners in crime.  So funny my first fur-baby and baby girl. I love you both dearly.

You are an amazing gift and I would feel so lost without you. I always joke that I need that manual now. Because before you we had no clue what to do. We are all learning together and that is the most special of all. Happy half birthday to my Lily Anne and here is to many more!

Love,
Mommy
